Orioles recall Hart, Jones out of starting lineup

HOUSTON - The Orioles added and subtracted a left-hander from the bullpen before tonight's game against the Astros at Minute Maid Park.

Donnie Hart has been recalled from Triple-A Norfolk and Jayson Aquino has been optioned to the Tides.

Hart is 1-0 and a 3.95 ERA in 19 appearances, with six runs and 19 hits in 13 2/3 innings. He's walked four batters and struck out 16.

Left-handers are batting .308 (8-for-26) against Hart.

During his brief stay with Norfolk, Hart made three appearances and allowed four hits in 3 1/3 scoreless innings.

Chris Davis was on the field early today. He hit off a tee in the cage and then took batting practice against infield instructor/MASN analyst Mike Bordick.

Davis is 2-for-28 with a home run and 14 strikeouts in his last seven games and is batting .233/.340/.465 with seven doubles, 10 home runs, 18 RBIs, 26 walks and 68 strikeouts in 188 plate appearances.

Before his latest slump, Davis was 10-for-26 with five home runs in a span of seven games.

Joey Rickard is leading off tonight and playing center field against Astros left-hander Dallas Keuchel and Welington Castillo is batting second as the designated hitter. Adam Jones is on the bench.
