Orioles Reinstate LHP Michael Gonzalez from Disabled List; Recall LHP Troy Patton from Triple-A Norfolk

INF Josh Bell optioned to Tides; RHP Jim Johnson transferred to 60-day disabled list The Orioles announced a series of roster moves prior to today's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. LHP Michael Gonzalez has been reinstated from the 60-day disabled list, LHP Troy Patton has been recalled from Triple-A Norfolk and INF Josh Bell has been optioned to the Tides. In addition, to make room for Gonzalez on the 40-man roster, RHP Jim Johnson has been transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Gonzalez was placed on the disabled list on April 10 with a strained left shoulder. At the time of his injury, Gonzalez had recorded one save in three appearances. Patton was 6-9 with a 4.91 ERA (99.0IP, 54ER) in 18 starts for the Tides this season. He posted a 3.44 ERA (52.1IP, 20ER) over his last nine outings for Norfolk. This will be Patton's first appearance in the major leagues since 2007. He will wear uniform #54. Bell batted .263 (6-19) in six games for the Orioles. Johnson has been on the disabled list since May 28 with right elbow inflammation. He was 1-1 with one save and a 6.52 ERA (9.2IP, 7ER) in 10 games for the Orioles.
