Orioles release complete 2016 schedule

NEW YORK - The Orioles will open the 2016 season with home series against the Twins and Rays before hitting the road for the first time on April 11 against the Red Sox.

Opening day is set for April 4 against the Twins at Camden Yards. The Orioles are off the following day before playing the next two nights. They host the Rays on April 8-10.

Camden Yards daytime.jpgAs I wrote earlier today, the Orioles are matched against the National League West in interleague play. They host the Padres on June 21-22 and travel to San Diego on June 28-29.

The trip to San Diego is followed by four games in Seattle and three in Los Angeles against the Dodgers.

The Orioles play four games in Oakland on Aug. 8-11, followed by three in San Francisco on Aug. 12-14.

Manager Buck Showalter won't be thrilled with three West Coast trips. The Orioles also are in Anaheim in May.

The Rockies come to Baltimore on July 25-27.

The Orioles have a home-and-home series against the Nationals on Aug. 22-25, with the first two games at Camden Yards.

The September portion of the schedule includes a weekend series against the Diamondbacks at Camden Yards that also represents the final home games of the regular season. The Orioles close with games in Toronto on Sept. 27-29 and New York on Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

The Orioles travel to Kansas City on April 22-24. The teams didn't meet for the first time this season until Aug. 25 at Kauffman Stadium.

The All-Star break falls on July 11-14.

The Orioles play three home games on national holidays: Mother's Day on May 8 vs. the Athletics, Memorial Day on May 30 vs. the Red Sox and Father's Day on June 19 vs. the Blue Jays.

The complete schedule is below. Times will be announced at a later date.
