The Orioles' PR department provided some interesting nuggets, including the following: So far on the 4-1 road trip, the Orioles are batting .311 and have posted a 1.43 ERA (1.50 for the starters, 1.29 for the bullpen). A win tonight would mark the Orioles' first three-game sweep at Rogers Centre since April 22-24, 2005. The Orioles are 24-19 in series finales in 2012, including an 11-10 mark on the road. The Orioles have held the Blue Jays to three and four hits in the first two games of the series. The last time they limited an opponent to four or fewer hits in consecutive games was April 1-3, 2011, when Tampa Bay collected four hits in each of the first three games of the 2011 season. The Orioles have thrown consecutive shutouts for the third time this year (also June 16-17 at Atlanta and Aug. 4-5 at Tampa Bay). The last time the Orioles threw as many as three consecutive shutouts was Sept. 26-Oct. 1, 1995 as part of a five-game shutout streak that ended the season. The Orioles have gone 22 innings without allowing a run, the third-longest streak of the season behind 28 scoreless frames from Aug. 3-6 and 25 straight from June 15-18. The last streak longer than 28 was 30, from Aug. 27-31, 2010. Since allowing 12 earned runs in the series finale at Texas on Aug. 22, the Orioles are 9-2 with a 2.30 ERA in 98 innings and opponents are batting .192. From opening day through Aug. 8, Orioles third basemen combined for 24 errors and were last in the majors with a .914 fielding percentage. The team had a .980 fielding percentage, the worst in the majors. Since the Orioles selected Manny Machado's contract from Double-A Bowie on Aug. 9, he has played every inning at third base and committed only one error for the third-best fielding percentage among American League third basemen (.984). The Orioles have made just 10 errors, for a .989 fielding percentage, the best in the league. Machado's lone error was on a throw Aug. 17 when first base umpire Jeff Kellogg called the runner out, but plate umpire Tim Timmons overturned it, leading to Mark Reynolds' ejection and fine. In the last 11 games since Aug. 24, the Orioles' .990 fielding percentage leads the league. They've committed four errors in 401 chances over 98 innings. The Orioles have 39 road wins this year, nine more than their total in 2011 and their most since 2004, when they won 40. They have 13 road games left this season. The 39 road wins are the most in the AL, and their .574 winning percentage leads the league.
