Strasburg lights out against Gwinnett

Syracuse Chiefs starter Stephen Strasburg rolled past the Gwinnett Braves in his Triple-A debut from a sold out Alliance Bank Stadium. Strasburg continued to hit 96-99 miles per hour on his fastball, a drop off the table curve ball and an assortment of off-speed stuff that confused the G-Braves hitters. Strasburg also added 2 RBI as Syracuse led 3-0 when he left the game. He had run scoring single in the 2nd inning and a perfect bunt in the 4th that scored the 3rd Chiefs run. His line was impressive: 6 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. He threw 65 pitches and 45 for strikes. It was great to see Strasburg continue where he left off in Harrisburg. Syracuse won the game 7-0 before 13,766. Jason Benetti, the Chiefs play-by-play announcer, who called the game rebroadcast on MASN, told me afterwards: "His stuff was electric and his command of that stuff was even better. Plus, I've never seen the ballpark have so much enthusiasm inside it." One note...I know the Chiefs had a long history as the farm team for the Toronto Bluejays but it is time to make a clean break and get rid of the Bluejays uniform colors and get Strasburg in Nationals colors. Let's redesign the Chiefs uniforms in red and white. Maybe that will be taken care of June 4 through 6 on its own?
