Zimmerman to rehab tonight in Woodbridge

Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman (hamstring) is expected to make a rehab appearance tonight for high Single-A Potomac. The first game of the doubleheader is set to begin at 6 p.m. Zimmerman would most likely just play the first game and try to get a least three at-bats. He will wear jersey No. 33. * Hagerstown Suns right-hander Ivan Pineyro put in a gem of a start last weekend with 12 strikeouts in a 3-0 win over the Hickory Crawdads. Pineyro went six innings, allowed three hits, no runs and two walks. His 12 strikeouts were more punch-outs than he had in his four previous starts. Pineyro is now 1-2 with a 4.58 ERA in five starts with 23 strikeouts and six walks. Right-hander David Fischer came on to strike out six more Crawdads in the final three frames. Fischer has 21 strikeouts in six games. * Right-hander Brian Dupra has been called up to high Single-A Potomac and left-hander Ben Hawkins has been sent to Hagerstown. Dupra has had a solid beginning to the season with the Suns. Hawkins has had some rough patches with the P-Nats. Dupra is 1-2 with a 3.72 ERA in five games with one start. Hawkins has had difficulty early on, and it will be good for him to work with Suns pitching coach Franklin Bravo to calm his mechanics down. He has struggled out of the bullpen, with a 5.63 ERA in eight innings of work over seven games.
