Checking on some Zach Britton stats

When Zach Britton took the loss in his last start, last Friday versus Tampa, he allowed four hits and three runs over 5 1/3 innings, throwing 95 pitches. It was the first time this season Britton has worked fewer than six innings in his seven starts. He has recorded five quality starts to date, and the Orioles are 5-2 when he takes the mound. That is his record also, as he has had a decision in every start. Tonight, Britton can pick up his sixth win. The Orioles did not have a pitcher record his sixth win last year until August 8th when Jeremy Guthrie did it. The last O's hurler to win six games by the end of May was Kris Benson in 2006. Britton is 3-1 with an ERA of 2.52 over four Camden Yards starts. So far, Britton is getting fewer ground ball outs in the majors than he got last year in the minors. His ratio of ground to air outs this year is 1.55 to 1.00. It was 3.06 to 1.00 last season with Double-A Bowie and 2.50 to 1.00 when he pitched at Triple-A Norfolk. Britton's ERA by inning: 1st - 0.00 2nd - 5.14 3rd - 6.43 4th - 1.29 5th - 1.29 6th - 4.26 7th - 0.00 8th - 0.00 AL wins leaders: 6: Trevor Cahill, Oak; Max Scherzer, Det; Jared Weaver, LAA 5: Zach Britton, O's; Justin Masterson, Clev; David Price, TB
