Since the season ended, 24 players that were with the Orioles in the minors and/or big leagues this past year have become minor league free agents.
They are now free to sign with any organization.
Here is the list.
Infielders: Michael Aubrey, Scott Moore.
Outfielders: Lou Montanez, Jeff Salazar, Jonathan Tucker, Joel Guzman.
Catchers: Zach Booker, Phil Britton, Michel Hernandez, Steve Lerud, Rolando Pettit.
Pitchers: Alberto Castillo, Jose Diaz, Jose Duran, Chris George, Mike Hinckley, Bob McCrory, Cla Meredith, Jim Miller, Andy Mitchell, Jose Perrault, Wifrido Perez, Bruno Sanchez, Dennis Sarfate.
Joel Guzman hit .279-33-98 in 130 games with Bowie and led the O's organization in homers and RBI in 2010.
The club has let Guzman and his agent know they would like to re-sign him, but they also expect him to pursue other teams where he may have a better chance to play in the Majors next season.
Wilfrido Perez entered this season with a career O's minor league ERA of 2.43. He pitched just five innings on the year, in April for Bowie. He was also taken off the O's 40-man roster earlier this season.
Injuries have limited Perez to just 31 innings the last two seasons and there appears to be little chance he will return with the club.
Michael Aubrey batted .235-22-68 at Norfolk and hit 17 homers over his last 50 games.
A couple of these free agents have already signed elsewhere. Dennis Sarfate is headed for Japan, Scott Moore has signed with the Cubs and Mike Hinckley with Toronto.
The Orioles are expected to sign just a few minor league free agents this winter. For one reason, several players like Josh Bell, Brandon Snyder and Matt Angle could return to Triple-A next year. And the club has trimmed two of its minor league teams since last season.
