The Nationals will look to snap their three-game losing streak tonight in Miami with the first of three games against the Marlins.
They'll go into tonight's game without both Danny Espinosa and Adam LaRoche in their starting lineup.
Espinosa was hit by a Paul Maholm pitch on the right wrist yesterday and needed to leave the Nationals' game against the Braves after four innings. X-rays on Espinosa's wrist were negative, but the second baseman said after the game that the wrist was sore and a bit swollen.
Manager Davey Johnson said yesterday that Espinosa would likely miss a game or two. Steve Lombardozzi will get the start at second base with Espinosa out.
LaRoche dealt with tightness in his back earlier in the season, causing him to miss two games against the Reds, but he played in each of the Nats' last six games. The Nationals are facing Marlins left-hander Wade LeBlanc tonight, so it's possible the left-handed-hitting LaRoche is just being given a day off.
The right-handed-hitting Tyler Moore will make his first start of the season at first base in LaRoche's stead.
Update: LaRoche told reporters in Miami that his absence from the lineup is not injury related. Just a day off for the Nats' starting first baseman and a chance for Johnson to get Moore in the lineup against a lefty.
Jordan Zimmermann gets the ball tonight for the Nats. He's 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA thus far this season.
LeBlanc is 0-2 with a 3.27 ERA in two starts.
The Marlins will be without right fielder Giancarlo Stanton, who is battling a shoulder injury.
