Game 84 lineups: Nats vs. Marlins

It's a familiar matchup tonight on South Capitol Street, where the Nationals and Marlins meet again, one week after they faced off in Miami. Even the pitching matchup is the same, with Patrick Corbin opposing Zac Gallen for the second time in six days.

Corbin-Slider-White-Sidebar.jpgCorbin has been outstanding in two starts against the Marlins this season - one run, seven hits, 14 strikeouts in 16 innings - so he certainly figures to have a plan of attack for tonight's matchup. Sadly, the left-hander will be pitching with a heavy heart tonight, one day after his former teammate Tyler Skaggs died. Corbin and Skaggs both were drafted by the Angels in 2009, both were traded to the Diamondbacks in 2010 and both made their major league debuts for Arizona in 2012. It's difficult to imagine what the last 24 hours have been like for him.

The Nationals had all kinds of trouble figuring out Gallen last week at Marlins Park, held to one hit through five innings. But then the top of the lineup produced three straight singles to open the sixth, Don Mattingly turned to his bullpen and Matt Adams crushed a three-run homer off lefty Wei-Yin Chen en route to a 7-5 victory.

Speaking of Adams, he's not in tonight's lineup against the righty. Ryan Zimmerman gets the start, his third in four games since coming off the injured list and his first at first base. Howie Kendrick gets the start at second base instead of Brian Dozier.
