Make mine a double play (updated)

The Orioles have hit into three double plays in the first three innings. That's the maximum allowed, as far as I know. Brian Roberts singled in the first inning, and Nick Markakis grounded into a DP. Adam Jones and Matt Wieters singled in the second inning, and J.J. Hardy grounded into a DP. Robert Andino singled in the third - and you wanted him out of the lineup! - and Roberts grounded into a DP. The Orioles have stranded only one runner in three innings, so let's choose to look on the bright side. Zach Britton is dealing. He's held the Mariners to two singles in four innings. He hasn't walked a batter, and 41 of his 56 pitches have gone for strikes. After two innings, he had 22 strikes among 28 pitches. Pretty good ratio. Britton is seeking his sixth win tonight. The Orioles didn't have a pitcher record his sixth victory last year until Aug. 8, when Jeremy Guthrie did it. The last Orioles pitcher to win his sixth game in May was Kris Benson on May 19, 2006. Or was that six surgeries? Nope, it was wins. Instant update: The male fan I wrote about earlier just caught his third foul ball. No lie.

Wieters' caught stealing rate now over 50 percent
