The Orioles outrighted pitcher Julio DePaula to Double-A Bowie after he cleared waivers.
DePaula, signed recently from the independent York Revolution, hasn't allowed a run in 6 1/3 innings with the Baysox over three appearances.
The Orioles reached agreement with right-hander Robert Coello on a Triple-A deal, pending a physical, according to a team official.
Coello is 2-3 with a 5.90 ERA in 28 major league games - six with the Red Sox in 2010, six with the Blue Jays in 2012 and 16 with the Angels last season. He was 2-1 with a 1.69 ERA this year in 26 appearances at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Don Lenhardt, an original member of the 1954 Orioles, passed away on July 9 in Chesterfield, Mo., at age 91. There are now five surviving members of the '54 opening day roster: Connie Berry, Gil Coan, Bill Hunter, Don Larsen and Sam Mele.
Former Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts is making his first trip to Camden Yards today since signing a one-year, $2 million deal with the Yankees over the winter. He rode in a golf cart past a group of Baltimore reporters on his way to the visiting clubhouse, asked the driver to stop and checked to make sure they were going in the right direction.
Funny guy.
Will Roberts receive an ovation from Orioles fans when he bats sixth tonight?
"I hope so," said manager Buck Showalter. "I would expect it. And if I know our fans, they will. Brian did a lot of great things here over a long period of time.
"I think so - until the game starts. Not that it will be negative toward him once the game starts. Our people are real good about that. They have a real feel for the game and the history and they remember the things Brian did so well for us."
Roberts said he hasn't thought about the reception that awaits him.
"I'm excited to get back on the field," he said. "Certainly my favorite stadium to play in. The fans were always great to me and the city was always great to me and my family.
"I'm not overly concerned with it. You never want to get booed, but at the same time, they're pulling for their team and I understand that. I don't expect them to be cheering me on all night."
Roberts, selected by the Orioles in the supplemental round of the 1999 draft, had to adjust to dressing in a different clubhouse.
"It's crazy," he said. "I don't know if I walked in here one time in my career. It's definitely strange to walk by the home clubhouse and come over here, but it's kind of a new chapter of life. I'm certainly excited to be back. Spent the night in my house last night. Good to sleep in you own bed sometimes.
"I think this will be weirdest moment, probably. When they were at our place it was different, but it wasn't crazy different just because you're not in the city, in Camden Yards in a different locker room, clubhouse. This will be a little bit strange, but once I get on the field it will all be the same."
Roberts is batting .246/.313/.375 with 15 doubles, four triples, four homers, 19 RBIs and seven steals in 11 attempts over 79 games. He's been a model of durability compared to other Yankees on the roster.
"It's been great," he said. "That's all I was hoping for this year was to have the opportunity to get out and play on a consistent basis and feel healthy and feel like I was contributing. From that standpoint, it's certainly been a year I've been pleased with."
How many second baseman can say they've played in the same infield as Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. and future Hall of Famer Derek Jeter? And as they approached retirement?
"I've definitely been extremely blessed to take part in both of their last years," Roberts said. "They have so many similarities - the way they go about the game, the way they go about their business on and off the field. So professional in both ways, so respected by everyone. When you play with each of them, you see why. They both just do everything the right way, treat people the right way. It's something that all of us can learn from.
"We all take things from every place that we've been and people that we play with, but certainly when you play with guys of that caliber and that stature in the game, I think it's special for all of us to have the opportunity to do that."
