Here are some notes and stats concerning tonight's game. The Rays scored two in the 6th vs. Guthrie to take a 3-1 lead. This is interesting. Stolen base attempts this year by Tampa. First series vs. O's: Went 1 for 4 Second series vs. NY: Went 7 for 7 The Rays easily led the AL in steals last year. Does this mean Matt Wieters is getting a rep for throwing out runners, even with a good team like Tampa. Or am I reading too much into that stat? Luke Scott was 0 for 10 in his career vs. Matt Garza before a second-inning single. Tampa SS Jason Bartlett doubled in the third inning tonight to extend his personal hitting streak at Camden Yards to 17 games. He is a career .378 hitter here. Miguel Tejada is 6 for 15 with a homer and 6 RBI this year when batting with men on base. He is 0 for 12 with the bases empty. Of the 27 runs allowed by O's pitchers this year, 11 have come in the 8th or later. The Orioles when leading after 8 innings: Last year: 55-4 This year: 1-2 Yes, the O's are 0 for 3 (through the 5th) tonight hitting with runners in scoring position.
