"Orioles Classics" rewind: Oriole Park Classics Game No. 8

It's finally here! Baseball's back!

With Orioles pitchers and catchers set to report to the Ed Smith Stadium complex tomorrow, the 2017 baseball season has finally arrived! Be sure to check back regularly to MASNsports.com throughout the week as we bring you complete coverage of the Birds straight from Sarasota.

Meanwhile, to really kick off spring training, also be sure to tune in to MASN tonight for the No. 8 selection in our countdown of the top games in Oriole Park history at 7 p.m. Your hint for tonight's game: a big display of Iron, so to speak.

The rest of the week is a short one in terms of "Orioles Classics," with only two games on the schedule. But that's OK, we've finally got real baseball things going on down in Florida.

These two games from 2012 on Tuesday highlight some pretty impressive Orioles debuts:

Tuesday, Feb. 14, 12:30 a.m. - If the excitment of the first workout for pitchers and catchers keeps you up late at night, turn the tube on to MASN to watch Jason Hammel take a no-hitter into the eighth inning of his Orioles debut on April 8, 2012. The Twins' Justin Morneau led off the eighth with a double to break up Hammel's no-hit bid. But Hammel finished with just two hits and one earned run while getting the win in the O's 3-1 triumph at Camden Yards.

Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1:30 p.m. - While not exactly his debut, Manny Machado made a great impression on Birdland in his second major league game. After going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a triple for his first big league hit in his actual debut the night before, Machado launched not one, but two home runs on Aug. 10, 2012, again finishing 2-for-4 with the longballs, two runs scored and four RBIs in a 7-1 win over the Royals in Baltimore.
