Pitchers and catchers report one week from today. That's one week until the return of baseball, and the Orioles are inviting their fans to watch the first workouts of the new season.
The Orioles announced today that fans are welcome to watch the team's first workouts on the back fields of the Ed Smith Stadium complex each day from Feb. 19-29. There is no charge for attendance or parking, which will be available in the East Lot off 12th Street and Tuttle Avenue.
A day after reporting, pitchers and catchers will take the field around 10 a.m. on Feb. 19. Then the team will work out from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day leading up to the first spring training game against the Braves on Wednesday, March 1 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The first full-squad workout will be on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
Did you enjoy Orioles FanFest? Well, fans are also welcome to attend Sarasota SpringFest! The free, family-friendly event will be on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Ed Smith Stadium, where fans will have the opportunity to watch O's players practice on the back fields and enjoy games and activities in the East Parking Lot.
