Orioles lineup in Toronto (Rinehart acquired from Mariners)

Less than three hours before the trade deadline arrives, Orioles manager Brandon Hyde has posted a lineup that includes Adley Rutschman in the leadoff spot again and Gunnar Henderson moving down to fifth against Blue Jays left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu.

Henderson is the designated hitter. Jordan Westburg is playing second base, Ramón Urías is the third baseman, and Jorge Mateo is the shortstop.

Ryan Mountcastle is batting second for only the second time this season.

Ryan McKenna is the center fielder tonight.

The Orioles are 65-41, including 17-9 in July, and 1 ½ games ahead of the Rays. They’ve won 16 of their last 22.

They’ve gone 6-1 against Toronto.

Kyle Bradish hadn’t allowed more than three runs in 10 consecutive starts until surrendering five over 6 2/3 innings last week in Philadelphia. He held the Blue Jays to one run and four hits in seven innings June 14 at Camden Yards, with George Springer’s solo shot the only damage.

Bradish is 0-3 with a 5.59 ERA and 1.586 WHIP in six career starts against the Blue Jays. He’s allowed 11 earned runs and 13 total with 21 hits in 13 2/3 innings at Rogers Centre.

George Springer is 7-for-14 with four doubles and a home run against Bradish. Bo Bichette is 5-for-15 with two homers, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 5-for-15 with a homer, and Alejandro Kirk is 5-for-10 with a double.

Ryu is making his 2023 debut after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He hasn’t pitched for Toronto since June 1, 2022.

The lefty registered a 2.42 ERA and 1.05 WHIP from 2019-20 and a 4.55 ERA and 1.24 WHIP from 2021-22.

Ryu is 5-1 with a 4.35 ERA and 1.289 WHIP in nine career starts against the Orioles. Anthony Santander is 5-for-15 with two doubles and a home run. Austin Hays, who’s in the cleanup spot tonight, is 5-for-15 with a double and home run. Mountcastle is 3-for-18 with a double and six strikeouts.

The Blue Jays are 7-21 against division opponents.

The Jays acquired infielder Paul DeJong from the Cardinals earlier today after shortstop Bo Bichette left last night’s game with a knee injury. But DeJong won’t join the team until Wednesday.

Guerrero owns a career .972 OPS against the Orioles, more than 100 points higher than all other opponents (.833). He’s hit 22 homers in 70 games against the Orioles.

The Orioles have made a minor league trade, sending reliever Eduard Bazardo to the Mariners for right-hander Logan Rinehart, as first reported by FanSided's Robert Murray. The Orioles designated Bazardo for assignment over the weekend.

Rinehart, 25, is a former 16th-round pick who made 31 relief appearances with Single-A Everett and registered a 2.84 ERA and 1.053 WHIP with 10 saves in 38 innings. He struck out 51 batters and surrendered only four home runs.

DL Hall threw his final bullpen session today in Sarasota and is rejoining Triple-A Norfolk, initially in a relief role.

Hall hasn’t pitched for the Tides since June 14, with his innings limited in a de-load phase. He reported to the minor league complex and went on a strengthening program before making two appearances in the Florida Complex League.

Orioles executive vice president/general manager Mike Elias said the organization is deciding whether to ramp up Hall as a starter or keep him in a relief role for a later call-up.
