Orioles release 2025 schedule, open season in Toronto

ARLINGTON, Texas – For only the second time in franchise history, the Orioles will play the Blue Jays on Opening Day. And 2025 will mark the first time that it’s happened in Canada.

Major League Baseball released the schedule for next year and the Orioles begin with a four-game series at Rogers Centre that runs from March 27-March 30.

Opening Day at Camden Yards is slated for March 31 against the Red Sox, with the standard off-day before the last two games.

The first multi-city trip follows with stops in Kansas City and Phoenix. Next is the longest homestand of the season with a combined nine games against the Blue Jays, Guardians and Reds.

The Orioles conclude the regular season with a three-game series in New York from Sept. 26-28.

Thirteen of the Orioles’ final 16 games are against divisional opponents, including the last 10. They host the Yankees for four games and the Rays for three before heading to the Bronx.

There’s a tweak to the traditional series against the Nationals, with the teams playing three games in Baltimore and three in D.C. rather than two and two. The six games are the most since 2021.

The home portion of the schedule includes three games played on holidays - Easter Sunday on April 20 against the Reds, Memorial Day on May 26 versus the Cardinals, and Father’s Day on June 15 against the Angels.

The Orioles have 16 series against the National League. They host the Reds (April 18-20), Nationals (May 16-18), Cardinals (May 26-28), Mets (July 8-10), Marlins (July 11-13), Rockies (July 25-27), Dodgers (Sept. 5-7) and Pirates (Sept. 9-11). They travel to Arizona (April 7-9), D.C. (April 22-24), Milwaukee (May 19-21), Atlanta (July 4-6), Chicago (Aug. 1-3), Philadelphia (Aug. 4-6), San Francisco (Aug. 29-31) and San Diego (Sept. 1-3).

The All-Star break runs from July 14-17, with the Midsummer Classic played on the 16th at Truist Park in Atlanta. The Orioles start the second half on the road against the Rays and Guardians, with the latter a four-game series.

Times for the regular season games will be announced at a later date.

The only previous matchup with the Blue Jays to start a season was in 2017 at Camden Yards. Kevin Gausman opposed Marco Estrada and the Orioles won 3-2 in 11 innings on Mark Trumbo’s walk-off homer against Jason Grilli.

Tyler Wilson earned the victory with a scoreless top of the 11th. Seth Smith batted leadoff before Trey Mancini pinch-hit for him, and Hyun Soo Kim was in left field.

* The Orioles on MASN are averaging 100,000 viewers per quarter hour each night across the Baltimore designated market area (DMA), an increase of more than 35 percent over the same period last season, according to a news release issued by the network.

The release also states:

“It is rare in television that an RSN (Regional Sports Network) would outpace the audience for a broadcast station or cable network. But the 100,000 quarter hour average that viewers the O’s on MASN are generating is more than twice the viewership of the next closest competitor.

“The Phillies and Orioles are the only two teams in Major League Baseball showing growth of 30 percent or greater.”
