Scott Feldman made his final start of the season last night, and it wasn't pretty. It also wasn't indicative of his time spent in an Orioles uniform.
Feldman had allowed three earned runs or fewer in his last eight starts before the Red Sox shelled him. The Orioles won't judge him on it.
The question is, will they re-sign him?
Feldman will become a free agent following the season, and he's a favorite of manager Buck Showalter. The Orioles would like to retain him, but maybe not if another club steps up with a three-year offer.

I asked Showalter yesterday about his interest in keeping Feldman for next year's rotation. I mentioned how this could be the right-hander's last start as an Oriole. Here's the exchange:
Showalter: "What do you mean last start? You think this is his last start? Roch, what would you do? What would you do?"
Me: "As far as bringing him back next year? I think he'd be valuable."
Showalter: "OK, how many years would you give him?"
Me: "Am I setting the market?"
Showalter: "Yes, I have interest in Scott. Same reason why we traded for him. I knew Scott over in Texas. I had a feeling what we were going to be getting from a consistency standpoint. A professional, a teammate, somebody the Orioles would be proud of. Scotty's a good man and any team would would be lucky to have him. And we hope it's here in Baltimore. That's how I feel."
And that feeling didn't change last night. Not before Feldman took the mound and not after he left it in the third inning.
Shameless plug alert: I'm appearing on "Wall to Wall Baseball" from noon to 2 p.m. on MASN.
