Orioles rotation set for Astros series

The Orioles have chosen Tyler Wilson to make Wednesday night's start against the Astros at Minute Maid Park.

The spot had been listed as TBD.

Chris Tillman starts tonight in the series opener and Kevin Gausman closes it out Thursday night. The Astros are sending Doug Fister, Collin McHugh and Lance McCullers to the mound.

The off-day Monday gave manager Buck Showalter the freedom to adjust the rotation.

Wilson was working on seven days' rest before facing Seattle. He had posted quality starts in back-to-back outings.

The Orioles lead the Astros 17-12 in the all-time series, going 12-3 at home and 5-9 on the road.

A leftover from last night: The Orioles will assign pitcher Franderlin Romero to Single-A Frederick after acquiring him from the Reds for two international bonus slots.
