Prospect Hague has "good throwing day" in Florida

Single-A Potomac Nationals shortstop Rick Hague played in only four games this season before going down with a shoulder injury. The Nationals have high hopes for the young Rice University product, but want to be careful with his shoulder before they return him to Woodbridge, Va. Hague is currently in Viera, Fla., rehabbing during extended spring training. Nationals infield coordinator Jeff Garber updated Hague's status with some positive news. Garber said Tuesday was a "good throwing day" for Hague. "Mechanically everything looks good," Garber said. "He had a bit of a setback that he has now bounced back from and continues on a throwing program. The next step for Hague is to throw across the diamond." Hague batted .357 in those four games, notching at least one hit in all four contests, going 5-for-14 with two doubles, a homer and 4four RBIs. No word yet on when Hague will return to Potomac. Most likely, his next step is batting practice and then live games before he gets placed back on the P-Nats' roster.
