Quick-hit notes on Wang, DeRosa, Rodriguez

Chien-Ming Wang's recovery from a strained left hamstring continues tomorrow when he makes a rehab start for Double-A Harrisburg. Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Wang is scheduled to go 5-6 innings and throw around 75 pitches tomorrow. The veteran right-hander will make this rehab outing and at least one more before the Nats consider activating him off the disabled list. Asked if he's decided how Wang will fit into the Nationals' pitching staff when he returns, Johnson smiled and simply replied, "Nope." He's got bigger fish to fry right now - like figuring out how to get his offense to score more than two runs in a game. Mark DeRosa gave an update on his health today, saying he underwent an MRI recently, which confirmed the Nats' initial diagnosis of a strained left oblique. DeRosa, who was 3-for-37 (.081) prior to going on the DL, will be shut down completely for a couple of days. He's unsure of exactly when he'll be able to return to full baseball activities, but just knows that he's getting tired of being on the DL after spending much of the last two years sidelined because of serious wrist issues. "I don't have any explanation for it, (except) for the fact I'm getting old," the 37-year-old DeRosa joked. "It is what it is. It's been a tough two and a half years, but got to find a way to grind back and redeem myself for the awful start I've gotten off to." Meanwhile, Johnson confirmed that with Drew Storen and Brad Lidge out, Henry Rodriguez will be his lone closing option. Rodriguez converted his first five save attempts of the season before collapsing in the ninth inning on Saturday in Los Angeles, blowing the save.
