Snyder, Sarfate among the cuts

The Orioles have delayed posting their lineup until manager Dave Trembley meets with the players who are being assigned to the minor league camp. Brandon Snyder, Dennis Sarfate, Josh Bell, Rhyne Hughes, Jonathan Tucker and Pedro Florimon are six of the players headed to the other side. And more cuts are coming, but the clubhouse is closed to the media. "It's better than making that drive from Fort Lauderdale. That was a pain," Snyder said as he packed his uniform pants and other belongings. "I always told everybody who asked how I looked going into the season, I always just said I look to make the team. I knew it was a longshot. It was nothing that in my mind I knew was going to happen, but if you go in with that mentality and put your best foot forward, good things happen, and I think I left a good impression. "I feel like I'm really close and I feel like I left a good taste in their mouths. And if they need somebody, I'm on the top of their list and on the top of their mind as the guy who can come up and make a difference." Snyder was 6-for-18 with one home run and three RBIs in 13 games. He also had an outstanding performance at first base in his final start. "I think that's probably the biggest downfall for me the last few years, my defense," he said. "I worked all off-season on it and I feel so comfortable over there. It's fun to play over there now. Before it was, 'What do I do? What do I do?' Now it's just relax and play the game, and it's definitely showing."
