Solis "looked sharp" in return to Potomac as P-Nats beat Salem 9-4

Left-hander Sammy Solis returned from the disabled list to throw four shutout innings in the Potomac Nationals' 9-4 win at Salem on Monday night. Richie Mirowski (8-3) pitched two solid innings for the victory. He allowed one hit and struck out three batters. Solis allowed just an infield single, no runs, one walk and struck out two. In his eight innings against Salem this season, Solis has given up just the single Monday night. He retired the first five batters he faced, allowed the infield single, then retired three more hitters. Solis then surrendered the walk and then retired four more in a row. His fastball reportedly hit 96 mph. Solis had been out since the middle of June because of shoulder soreness. Potomac Nationals play-by-play Bryan Holland said Solis "looked sharp" and his delivery was "free and easy". Michael Taylor went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs, a stolen base and four RBI in the P-Nats 14-hit attack. Potomac slammed seven doubles and a triple, going 7-for-23 (.304) with runners in scoring position.
