Tarp is coming off the field (O's win 5-4 in 10th inning)

The tarp is coming off the field at Camden Yards and tonight's game is expected to resume at approximately 10:55 p.m.

We have a light rain falling. We can live with it.

In the event that the rain had decided to stick around until some ungodly hour, the game would have been suspended and resumed on Sunday. The score no longer reverts back to the eighth inning. The Astros wouldn't have been awarded a win.

The delay started at 10:01 p.m. and the remaining fans are watching the Cardinals-Pirates game on the video board in center field.

I wonder if Chris Davis will be waiting in manager Buck Showalter's office.

Tommy Hunter needed one more out to record his 12th save and send everyone home. He fell behind 2-1 on Jose Altuve after throwing three consecutive cutters and gave up a two-run single on an 85 mph curveball.

Hunter has appeared in 16 games for the Orioles this season, allowing seven runs and 20 hits in 14 1/3 innings, with four walks, 14 strikeouts and one home run. He's 11-for-13 in save opportunities.

The Orioles are 8-3 in one-run games and 16-0 when leading after the eighth inning.

Update: Free baseball!

Astros right-hander Anthony Bass retired the first two Orioles in the bottom of the ninth after a 55-minute rain delay. He allowed two-out singles to Jonathan Schoop and Nick Markakis and walked Manny Machado on four pitches, and pinch-hitter Delmon Young reached on an infield hit to tie the game.

Schoop also had an infield hit. Funny how this game works.

Adam Jones popped up the first pitch thrown to him to end the inning and send us into extras.

Shortstop Jonathan Villar fielded Young's bouncer behind second base and bounced a throw to first. Young beat it out for his fifth RBI in 16 games.

Young was sent up to pinch-hit for David Lough despite the Astros having a right-hander on the mound. Lough, batting .172, had replaced Nelson Cruz in left field.

Ryan Webb will work the 10th.

Update II: Steve Clevenger doubled to right field with one out in the bottom of the 10th to score J.J. Hardy and give the Orioles a 5-4 win.

Hardy reached on an infield hit off Paul Clemens and Clevenger followed with his third hit of the night, leading to a pie in the face from Jones.

The Orioles' winning streak reaches five games and they're six above .500 at 20-14. They're also 9-3 in one-run games, 4-0 in extras and 17-0 when leading after the eighth.

Webb gets the win after stranding a runner on second base in the top of the 10th.
