The good and the bad in 10-6 loss

Brad Bergesen replaced starter Brian Matusz in the sixth inning and gave up two singles, struck out two batters and served up a three-run homer to Don Kelly. That's good and bad in the same inning. Chris Jakubauskas replaced Jeremy Accardo in the eighth and gave up a home run to the first batter he faced, Jhonny Peralta, after the Orioles had scored three runs in the top half of the inning. That's just bad. Matusz was charged with six runs and seven hits in five innings, with three walks, five strikeouts and two home runs. He'll go home with a 10.69 ERA. It's been a bad year, starting with spring training. You'd be foolish to give up on Matusz, but he has a lot of work to do this winter. Jake Fox, who has to be pried off the bench, has two hits, a walk and two runs scored. He's also been hit by a pitch. I like his bat coming off the bench, but maybe I'm in the minority. Nolan Reimold is 2-for-4 with his 13th home run and three RBIs. He's scored twice. He also belongs on next year's team, whether he's splitting time in the outfield and DH or coming off the bench. Just my opinion, but he brings something to the table.
