Today's pitchers: Tillman vs. Huff

RHP Chris Tillman (2-4, 4.71) today makes his 12th start of the season, his 7th on the road and his 2nd this year vs. Cleveland. Two starts ago, Tillman gave up just one run over 6 2/3 vs. Tampa. In his last start he gave up four runs and six hits in five innings Monday, in taking the loss at Toronto. In four September starts, Tillman is 1-2, 5.56. Right-handed batters are hitting .336 against him while lefties bat just .242. The Orioles are 4-7 when Tillman starts, 2-2 this month. Tillman has allowed 3ER or less in seven of 11 starts. In six road starts, he is 1-3, 5.29. He did not get a decision in his one previous start vs. Cleveland. He pitched five innings on August 29th at Baltimore, giving up six hits and just one run. LHP David Huff (10-8, 5.98) today makes his 23rd start, his 11th at home and the 1st of his career vs. Baltimore. After pitching to an ERA of 7.11 in five August starts, Huff is 2-1, 2.84 in three September outings. Lefty batters hit .322 vs. him, right handed batters hit .301 and he yields an average of .314 when pitching with runners in scoring position. In ten home starts, he is 4-4, 5.74. Huff began this season at Triple-A Columbus. In seven starts, he went 5-1, 4.35. In 2008, between Double-A and Triple-A he was 11-5, 2.52 and was named as the Tribe's 6th best prospect after the season by Baseball America.
