Today's Red Sox-Nationals lineups

The Nationals have just finished batting practice, fans are starting to stream into Nationals Park and the last exhibition game of the spring will start at 3:05 p.m. Remember, today's game is going to be televised live on MASN/MASN HD, so you can tune in and get a look at the Nats in their last game before Thursday's opener in Chicago against the Cubs. Here are today's lineups. For the Red Sox: CF - Jacoby Ellsbury 2B - Dustin Pedroia 1B - Adrian Gonzalez DH - David Ortiz 3B - Kevin Youkilis RF - Ryan Sweeney LF - Cody Ross C - Jarrod Saltalamacchia SS - Mike Aviles RHP - Clay Buchholz For the Nationals: SS - Ian Desmond 2B - Danny Espinosa 3B - Ryan Zimmerman 1B - Adam LaRoche RF - Jayson Werth LF - Mark DeRosa DH - Xavier Nady C - Wilson Ramos CF - Roger Bernadina RHP - Edwin Jackson A couple of things come to mind about today's lineups. First, Bernadina appears to be fine after leaving yesterday's game in Fort Myers, Fla., after being hit with a pickoff throw. Manager Davey Johnson said Bernadina's in line to be the opening day starter in center field. Both teams are trotting out what appear to be their opening day lineups, but there's no guarantee how long the starters will play. It's likely there will be mass substitutions as soon as field players are comfortable that they've gotten their work in. Both teams are employing a designated hitter this afternoon, even though it's a game in a National League park. That's probably an accommodation made for the Red Sox, who don't want their pitchers hitting and risking injury. Plus, it gives Nady, a late addition to Washington's spring camp who will make the 25-man roster, a chance for additional at-bats.
