Two-run lead disappears in the ninth (Nats walk off with 3-2 win)

Brad Lidge entered the game with a two-run lead and needing three outs to lock down the Nationals' second straight shutout of the Marlins. He couldn't deliver. Lidge got up on leadoff hitter Hanley Ramirez 0-2, then tossed four straight balls to put Ramirez on first and bring the tying run to the plate. Then, two pitches into Lidge's battle with Logan Morrison, the game was tied. Morrison crushed a 91 mph fastball that was basically sitting on a tee into the second deck in right, knotting the score at 2-2. It's Lidge's second blown save of the season in his four opportunities, and we have a new ballgame heading to the bottom of the ninth. Update: Yet again, we head to extra innings. The Nationals had a chance to win it in the bottom of the ninth when Jayson Werth flared a double into shallow right, but Xavier Nady grounded back to the pitcher on the first pitch he saw, ending the threat. We're tied 2-2 as we go to the 10th. This is already the Nats' fourth extra-inning game this season. They're 2-1 so far once reaching extras. Update: Well, that's one way to win a ballgame. Ian Desmond's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th brought in Wilson Ramos to give the Nationals a 3-2 walk-off win. Ramos reached on a leadoff single and then moved over to third on a two-base throwing error by Marlins first baseman Gaby Sanchez. Washington improves to 12-4 o the season and 3-1 in extra-inning contests.
