Updating Britton and a few other things

Zach Britton has played catch for three consecutive days and noted that his left arm is regaining the strength that it lost after undergoing a procedure to eliminate the inflammation in his shoulder. "I'm just getting my arm used to throwing again," said Britton, who received two Platelet Rich Plasma injections March 21. "I'm getting my arm going and it feels pretty good." Britton said he's increased the distance each day to around 90 feet. He'll take Sunday off before meeting with Chris Correnti, the Orioles' performance consultant who's responsible for overseeing the rehabilitation of injured players. "It's nice to be able to throw three days in a row and feel pretty good about it," he said. "Obviously, I need to strength it a little bit more, but it's a lot stronger than it was two or three weeks ago, and that's a credit to Chris and what we've been doing. There are big improvements in strength all across the board. That's the most encouraging thing." Britton doesn't know when he'll be ready for a bullpen session. "We haven't really discussed it," he said. "We're trying to take it week by week and go based on how I'm feeling. We're not going to push anything too quickly. It's up to what he sees and what I feel. We'll go week to week." Britton eventually will have to pitch in the minors on a rehab assignment. He could be optioned to Triple-A Norfolk, rather than immediately be inserted into the Orioles' rotation. Speaking of the Tides, manager Buck Showalter told reporters in Toronto that Tsuyoshi Wada could report to Norfolk on a rehab assignment and start Thursday's game in Gwinnett. He could be activated afterward or make another start. The Orioles must decide whether Wada is going to start or be used in long relief. He threw 100 pitches in today's extended spring training game. Also, since a few people have asked, I'd expect Matt Wieters to be off Sunday, since he's in today's lineup. It was going to be one or the other. And Rule 5 pick Ryan Flaherty is likely to make his first start on Sunday. Will Flaherty start at second base or third base? If it's second, will Robert Andino move to shortstop or take the day off?
