Wada day (with Orioles lineup)

SARASOTA, Fla. - The Orioles haven't posted their lineup for today's game against the State College of Florida. I guess there's no rush on the final day of spring training. They didn't take the field for the pregame stretch until 10:30 a.m. and the clubhouse closed to the media more than an hour ago, which meant one more breakfast at the 12th St. Cafe. It's my second one of the day, but who's counting? Jason Hammel will oppose Tsuyoshi Wada today, as the Orioles supply pitching for both sides. Hammel is going to be the No. 3 starter. Wada's immediate future is more cloudy. Wada remains in contention for the fifth spot, but it's quite possible that he goes on the disabled list and remains at extended spring training to build up his innings and arm. Manager Buck Showalter is waiting until today's outing to make a decision, but that's the likely outcome. Showalter must decide whether to insert Wei-Yin Chen in the second slot or the fourth, with Tommy Hunter occupying the other one. I guess it depends whether Showalter wants to break up the lefties - assuming Brian Matusz is No. 5. Also, does he want Chen facing the Twins or Yankees on the first homestand? Reliever Pat Neshek still hasn't heard whether he made the team, and he's just hoping for a resolution today, no matter the decision. He's expected to be reassigned and begin the season at Triple-A Norfolk, but as long as he stays healthy, we'll see him at Camden Yards this summer. We may find out whether Alfredo Simon was claimed off waivers. That's the expected outcome. I'll pass along the lineup as soon as it's posted. Like last night, the regulars will play five innings and come out of the game. And here it is: Robert Andino 2B J.J. Hardy SS Nick Johnson 1B Adam Jones CF Matt Wieters C Mark Reynolds DH Nolan Reimold LF Wilson Betemit 3B Endy Chavez RF Jason Hammel RHP
