Waiting on the roster move

Orioles manager Buck Showalter will wait until after batting practice to announce today's roster move. Showalter is playing it safe, saying he's been burned in the past by revealing the move and having a player injured in batting practice. He'll make sure everyone is off the field safely. Look for an announcement around 5:30 p.m. Kevin Gregg and pitching coach Rick Adair met with Showalter behind closed doors this afternoon, but the reliever isn't headed to the disabled list. Gregg had an MRI on his right side that came back clean, and he remains available to pitch. Gregg has never gone on the DL, and he's in no hurry to end that streak. Jim Johnson returned to the team after spending four nights at St. Agnes Hospital with a severe case of food poisoning. We don't know whether Johnson, who only lost seven pounds, is available tonight. It seems doubtful, but Showalter said, "I'm not telling." Zach Britton threw off a regular mound today in Sarasota, and the reports are positive. His left shoulder is feeling good. Robert Andino seems full of energy since returning from paternity leave. He slept on the flight to Baltimore and again when he got home. Showalter joked that Andino might be over-rested. Showalter wanted to give Ryan Flaherty three starts in a row, which explains tonight's lineup. Wilson Betemit will start tomorrow night. The statue unveiling for Hall of Famer Frank Robinson begins tomorrow at 5:15 p.m.
