Yet another night where the runs were not plentiful

It was another night of not much offense for the Orioles. The losing streak reached eight and the O's have scored a total of 20 runs during the skid. The last four games they have scored a total of 10 runs. Several individuals throughout the lineup continue to struggle. Vlad Guerrero went 0-for-4 in the loss and grounded into a double play. Guerrero just is not driving the ball at all right now and hit a 2-0 pitch to right field in the fourth inning. He has just one RBI the last nine games. I wonder if there is a chance that Buck Showalter sits Guerrero on Tuesday night against Carl Pavano and plays Luke Scott at DH and Felix Pie in left field. Vlad is just a .200 career hitter at 7-for-35 versus Pavano. Nick Markakis has just one hit over his last 16 a- bats over a four-game stretch. He grounded out tonight with two men on in the fifth inning. Matt Wieters hit a solo homer in the seventh, but is in a 4-for-30 drought over his last eight games. His blast in the seventh was his second homer. Mark Reynolds went 0-for-3 and is in a 4-for-25 slump and Derrek Lee was 0-for-2 with two walks. He has just two RBsI on the year and none over his last 10 games. The losses are mounting, but the runs are not. We'll see if Tuesday can bring better results for the Orioles, who have now fallen to 6-9.

Waiting for Gregg to be great
