Your incremental MacPhail update

I always point out how I strongly dislike incremental updates that don't advance a story, but here I go again. The Orioles haven't made an announcement today regarding president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail, and we probably won't hear anything until Monday at the earliest. Nothing has changed at this point. MacPhail will no longer serve as president of baseball operations unless there's a dramatic turn in events that nobody is anticipating. The question is whether he stays in the organization, perhaps in an advisory role. You already know this if you've been paying attention. Manager Buck Showalter flew home today and will sit down with his family and discuss whether he should move into the front office or stay in the dugout. That decision apparently rests with him. You already know this if you've been paying attention. At least one high-ranking official has advised Showalter to take over MacPhail's duties. Other people think he should remain as manager. He won't hold both titles. You already know this if you've been paying attention. I will continue to stay close to my laptop for any potential updates, even if I need to put it in the trunk of my car or carry it into the gym or wear it around my neck like Flavor Flav's clock. You already know this ...
