Game 119 lineups: Nats vs. Reds

The forecast tonight isn't great, but for now, the Nationals and Reds are intending to play the second game of their series. Given the fact this is Cincinnati's only trip here this year, and tomorrow's finale is scheduled for 4:05 p.m., there's certainly motivation to get this one in tonight as scheduled.

Adams-Soto-Celebrate-White-Sidebar.jpgThe Nationals have several players back in the lineup, headlined by Juan Soto. Turns out Soto will have missed only one game after spraining his right ankle rounding third base Sunday in New York. He was pretty optimistic yesterday that everything was fine, and sure enough it appears that is true.

Brian Dozier also returns to the lineup after he was limited to pinch-hitting duties the last two days due to flu-like symptoms. And Howie Kendrick, who doubled in a pinch-hitting appearance last night, is in the lineup tonight at first base, as Davey Martinez stacks as many righties as he can against Reds left-hander Alex Wood.

Joe Ross, meanwhile, tries to keep up his dramatic turnaround from the just-completed road trip. Ross didn't allow a run to either the Diamondbacks or Giants. Now he'll try to do it to a Reds lineup featuring Joey Votto, Eugenio Suárez and rookie sensation Aristides Aquino.
