Game 121 lineups: Nats at Brewers

Fresh off a two-game sweep of the Blue Jays, the Nationals now embark on a nine-game road trip that kicks off with a tough challenge: a weekend series in Milwaukee. The Brewers have won eight of 10 and now hold a commanding 8 1/2-game lead in the National League Central. They're doing it with elite pitching, especially from an imposing threesome atop their rotation (Brandon Woodruff, Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta) that should give them a chance to beat anybody come October. (Sound familiar?)

Fortunately for the Nationals, none of those three right-handers are scheduled to pitch this weekend. Instead, it's a couple of lefties (Brett Anderson, Eric Lauer) the next two nights and then righty Adrian Houser in Sunday's finale. So perhaps that's a slight break for the Nats.

Some interesting aspects of Davey Martinez's lineup against Anderson: Lane Thomas is starting in left field over Yadiel Hernandez, and Riley Adams is again behind the plate. It's Adams' fourth straight start, leaving Tres Barrera on the bench.

Patrick Corbin, meanwhile, will try to turn things in a positive direction yet again. The left-hander has allowed four or more runs in each of his last six starts. He also allowed four in his previous outing against the Brewers this season, way back on May 29 at Nationals Park.
