Game 145 lineups: Nats at Twins

MINNEAPOLIS - It's another gloomy, gray day here in the Twin Cities, and the rain is supposed to continue into the evening hours. It is, however, supposed to stop at some point. Which means the Nationals and Twins may have no choice but to sit around and wait so they can get tonight's series finale in as scheduled.

Each team only has one remaining off-day, and they're not the same. So if they somehow can't play tonight, the only option for a makeup game would be Sept. 30, the day in between the regular season finale and the National League wild card game. That's not an option anyone wants to have to activate.

The Nationals send Patrick Corbin to the mound, and they need the lefty to be more efficient than he was last weekend in Atlanta, when he allowed only one earned run but walked six batters and threw 107 pitches in only five innings. As we saw last night with Stephen Strasburg pitching, these Twins are good at working the count and prolonging at-bats. It'll be a challenge for Corbin to combat that.

After scoring five runs off left-hander Martín Pérez last night, the Nationals face righty Kyle Gibson tonight. So there are a couple of lineup changes, both on the right side of the infield: Asdrúbal Cabrera starts at second base in place of Brian Dozier, and Matt Adams starts at first base in place of Ryan Zimmerman.
