DENVER - This hasn't been Stephen Strasburg's most memorable season. He will have made only 22 starts, his lowest total since 2013 (when he was recovering from Tommy John surgery). Unless he tosses six scoreless innings (or nine innings of one-run ball) tonight, he'll finish with the highest ERA of his career.
Strasburg, though, can wrap up a disappointing 2018 season on a legitimate high note. If he pitches well tonight at Coors Field - where he owns a 7.20 ERA, but the vast majority of the damage against him here came in a nine-run start in 2016 right before he went on the DL - he can prevent the Rockies from winning their first-ever division title and finish his season strong. Over his last six starts, Strasburg is 3-0 with 2.60 ERA.
Adam Eaton, Matt Wieters and Wilmer Difo return to the Nationals lineup, with right-hander Jon Gray starting for Colorado. But Ryan Zimmerman remains out with a tight back, and at this point it seems unlikely he'd take a chance playing at all this weekend.
