Game 28 lineups: Nats at Yankees

There's really only one question everyone wants answered today: Is Juan Soto in the Nationals lineup? The answer you've been waiting for: Yes.

For the first time in 18 days, Soto is starting, albeit as designated hitter. Still unable to make throws in the outfield without fear of further injury to his left shoulder, he's being held back to hit only for the Nats' series opener against the Yankees. But that's still a major development for a team that desperately needs to generate some offense.

Soto-Swings-Gray-HR-LA-Sidebar.jpgThe only downside to Soto's return is that manager Davey Martinez can't start both Ryan Zimmerman and Josh Bell. So with right-hander Jameson Taillon on the mound for the Yankees, it's Bell at first base and Zimmerman on the bench. It'll be interesting to see if Martinez is willing to use Zimmerman to pinch-hit at some point for a position player, or if that just doesn't happen in an American League park.

Patrick Corbin, meanwhile, starts for the Nationals against the Yankees team he grew up rooting for in Syracuse. It's only Corbin's second career start in the Bronx; his other one came way back in 2013 while he was with the Diamondbacks.
