It's been a dreary couple of weeks in D.C., but here's some good news: The skies are supposed to clear later this afternoon and there may even be a bit of sunshine when the Nationals take the field at 7:05 p.m. for the opener of their weekend series with the Marlins.
This is a four-games-in-three-days series, with a day-night doubleheader tomorrow to make up the game that was rained out way back in the season's first week. The Nationals haven't yet announced who's pitching when tomorrow, but Tanner Roark and Stephen Strasburg are both on full rest and can go in either game. Joe Ross has already been announced as Sunday's starter.
As for tonight's opener, it's Gio Gonzalez on the mound, looking to bounce back from a tough start in Chicago last week. Tom Koehler, aka Bryce Harper's favorite pitcher to face, starts for Miami. If the right-hander intends to pitch around the MVP, he'll have to deal with the .409-hitting Daniel Murphy, who for the second straight game is batting cleanup, with Ryan Zimmerman fifth.
