Game 4 lineups: Nats vs. Phillies

We've known this day was coming, officially for a month now, unofficially for longer than that. Bryce Harper is playing tonight at Nationals Park, and he's not playing for the home team. How will the new Phillies slugger be greeted by the crowd? Check back shortly after 7 p.m.

More importantly, how will Harper fare at the plate against Max Scherzer? The two have only faced each other in live batting practice during spring training. That doesn't come close to counting. Rest assured, Scherzer has a game plan for Harper. And rest assured, Harper has a game plan for Scherzer. That should be the most intriguing element of tonight's affair.

Scherzer is pitching on regular rest, and that means he's starting the Nationals' fourth game of the season, before Aníbal Sánchez or Jeremy Hellickson makes his season debut. Suffice it to say, Scherzer is amped up for this one.

Thumbnail image for Adams white post strikeout.jpgThe Nationals lineup has a bit of a new look tonight. Juan Soto and Anthony Rendon have swapped spots, so Rendon now will protect Soto, who is batting third. And Matt Adams gets his first start of the season at first base, batting fifth. Keep in mind with a 1:05 p.m. game tomorrow, Ryan Zimmerman figured to get one of these two games off. Zimmerman is 7-for-25 with three doubles and a homer against tomorrow's starter, Aaron Nola. Adams is 0-for-5. So that may have something to do with Davey Martinez's decision.

It should be quite an evening at the ballpark. If you're coming, dress warm. If you're not, we'll have everything for you on MASN2.
