Game 62 lineups: Nats at Padres

SAN DIEGO - It's an overcast, cool afternoon here at Petco Park, kind of a disappointment for anyone expecting fun in the sun on this road trip. Then again, give me a cool marine layer over East Coast humidity any day of the week.

The Nationals, on the heels of an oh-so-brief, two-game homestand (and sweep) against the White Sox, are back on the road. They've got four games against the Padres this weekend, then head to Chicago for a return two-day gig with the White Sox. And they're feeling as good about themselves as they have all season long, having won nine of their last 11 to enjoy some sustained success at long last.

Corbin-Throwing-Gray-Front-Sidebar.jpgThat doesn't mean everything's perfect. The bullpen is still a major question mark, and it could be even more of a problem tonight if one or more of Sean Doolittle, Wander Suero and Tanner Rainey aren't available after throwing each of the last two days. Suffice it to say, the Nationals need a good (and lengthy) start out of Patrick Corbin, who is coming off his worst start of the season.

The lineup is loaded with right-handed bats against Padres lefty Joey Lucchesi. These guys beat Lucchesi around back on April 28, with Juan Soto, Victor Robles and Carter Kieboom all homering and the entire team racking up nine hits in only four innings. San Diego does get a nice boost to its lineup, with top rookie Fernando Tatis Jr. activated off the injured list. Tatis, you may recall, suffered a serious groin strain making a play at shortstop in that same April 28 game in D.C.
