It's hard to believe the first half of the 2011 season has come to a close. And for the Nationals, it has to be one filled with great optimism.
With impressive starting pitching, the surprise power from first baseman Michael Morse and a bullpen that's been solid throughout the first few months, the Nationals, a team that was poised to do great things in 2012 or later, look like they're not really willing to wait that long to make some noise in the National League.
Here at Nationals Buzz, it's been a great first half, too, with plenty of content to write about and just as many talented writers to capture it. And as we head into the All-Star break and get ready for the second half of the season, here's a look at the schedule moving forward as we tweak our guest blogging initiative for the season's second half. The main change is that you'll be reading a voice a day beginning Friday, when the Nationals start the second half in Atlanta.
On Mondays, Dave Nichols of Nats News Network returns, followed by Mike Henderson from Nationals Daily News on Tuesdays. Wednesdays will see the return of Rachel Levitin from We Love DC, before two more new faces in Ted Youngling from The Nats Blog and Jenn Jenson of Nationals Fangirl round out the rundown on Thursday and Friday.
I'd like to send a shoutout to both Will Yoder of The Nats Blog and Drew Kinback of Nationals Inquisition, who will move to occasional contributors beginning today. It was a pleasure having your content on our blog and we thank you for taking the time to contribute.
As for our new lineup, the content will resume flow with Jenson's inaugural entry on Friday, July 15, before settling into the weekly order the following Monday. I'll be filling the blog with content on a regular basis, so between myself and the guest bloggers, there won't be any shortage of insight and information as the Nationals continue to make their playoff push in 2011.
