Brady House is the latest Nationals prospect on the move.
The 2021 first-round pick (No. 11 overall) was officially promoted today from High-A Wilmington to Double-A Harrisburg.
House is currently ranked as the Nats’ No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline and No. 3 per Baseball America. He was recently moved up to No. 70 overall in MLB Pipeline’s top 100 prospect rankings.
Promoted to High-A just over a month ago, the 20-year-old slashed .317/.368/.540 with a .908 OPS, five doubles, three home runs, 13 RBIs and three stolen bases in just 16 games with the Blue Rocks.
That came in his first taste of High-A ball after he slashed .297/.369/.500 with an .869 OPS, eight doubles, one triple, six homers, 22 RBIs, five stolen bases and 16 walks in 36 games with Single-A Fredericksburg.
House, who missed most of last season with a back injury, was selected to join top prospect James Wood in representing the Nationals in last week’s All-Star Futures Game at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. The third baseman went 1-for-1 with a run scored and a nice catch in foul territory during the game.
Now he rejoins Wood as teammates with the Senators, whose lineup also includes fellow top prospect Robert Hassell III.
House figures to play third base for Harrisburg after moving to the hot corner full-time this season. That would bump Trey Lipscomb to another spot in the infield.
Lipscomb, the Nats’ No. 18 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has thrived with Harrisburg since being promoted at the same time House moved up to Wilmington. In 28 games with the Senators, the 2022 third-round pick is slashing .324/.354/.491 with an .845 OPS, six doubles, four homers, 17 RBIs and one stolen base.
Harrisburg starts a six-game series tonight in Bowie, Md., against the Baysox (Orioles).
Meanwhile, outfielder Daylen Lile was also promoted from Fredericksburg to Wilmington.
A second-round pick in the same draft class as House, Lile slashed .291/.381/.510 with 20 doubles, seven triples, seven home runs, 48 RBIs and 21 stolen bases in 66 games with the FredNats.
The 20-year-old is ranked as the Nats’ No. 15 prospect per MLB Pipeline and now joins a Blue Rocks outfield that includes Jeremy De La Rosa, Yasel Antuna and Jared McKenzie. T.J. White remains mostly as the first baseman and designated hitter.
First baseman Branden Boissiere also joins Lile in going from Fredericksburg to Wilmington.
A third-round pick in 2021, the 23-year-old has hit .227 with a .715 OPS, nine doubles, a triple, five homers, 29 RBIs and 31 walks in 57 games with the FredNats.
