Nationals announce plans for NatsFest on Dec. 13 (updated)

We already knew NatsFest was being held Dec. 13, and that the annual winter baseball carnival was returning to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, a downtown location that provides easier access for Nationals fans.

Now we have a better idea of some of the team-sponsored activities that will occur from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. (or starting at 10 a.m. if you're a season plan holder).

Eight different stations inside the Convention Center will host 51 separate events, and you'll have to pick and choose which you want to attend since many will run simultaneously. For instance, the first panel discussion on the docket is "Nothing But Broadcasters," which will he held in the Nationals Q&A room beginning at 10 a.m. during the season plan holder access; but at 10:15 a.m., the "State of the Nationals" discussion will be held at the main stage.

There will be games (NatsFest Feud and The Match Game on the Main Stage), breakouts (featuring front office personnel, members of the bullpen and a session with manager Matt Williams) in the Nats Q&A Room and special kid-specific activities (player story time, kids press conferences and Screech's scribbles) at the Jr. Nats Kids Forum. On the Youth Baseball Academy Field, there will be player-led instruction, mascot home run derby and a special opportunity for kids to run the bases.

Special photo stations will be set up for players, and the half-hour sessions begin at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Additionally, Screech and the Racing Presidents will pose for photos in half-hour blocks at 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:15 p.m., 3:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. As always, player/staff autograph sessions will be held throughout the day, but those have already sold out.

You can download the entire schedule here.

Advance tickets are available here for $20 for adults and $10 or kids 12 and under; on the day of NatsFest, prices rise to $25 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under.
