Nationals recall Ryne Harper

The Washington Nationals recalled right-handed pitcher Ryne Harper from Triple-A Rochester and placed right-handed pitcher Austin Voth on the 10-day Injured List (retroactive to June 7) with a fractured nose on Tuesday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement. Harper, 32, joins the Nationals for his third Major League stint of the season. He's made two appearances out of Washington's bullpen so far this season, posting a 3.00 ERA (1 ER/3.0 IP) with two strikeouts and one walk. In 11 games for Triple-A Rochester, Harper went 1-1 with a 2.81 ERA (5 ER/16.0 IP), 21 strikeouts, seven walks and a .220 opponents' batting average. He's tossed scoreless relief in five of his last six outings, pitching to a 0.90 ERA (1 ER/10.0 IP) with 15 strikeouts and three hits allowed (.094 opp. AVG). Harper has thrown more than one inning of relief in five of the six appearances. Voth, 28, is 2-0 with a 2.73 ERA in 19 games (one start) for Washington.
