Nationals reinstate Detwiler from DL, option Davis to Triple-A

The Washington Nationals today recalled from rehab and reinstated left-handed pitcher Ross Detwiler from the 15-Day Disabled List and optioned right-handed pitcher Erik Davis to Syracuse of the Triple-A International League. Nationals Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement. Detwiler, who missed the last 24 games with a right back muscle strain, is 2-4 with a 2.76 ERA in eight starts this season with Washington. The 27-year-old held Frederick to just one earned run on seven hits with four strikeouts in 3.2 innings during his rehab start on Saturday with Single-A Potomac. Davis, 26, posted a 6.23 ERA with seven strikeouts in 4.1 innings during five appearances this season with Washington.
