The Washington Nationals recalled right-handed pitcher Jefry Rodriguez from Triple-A Syracuse and placed righthanded pitcher Erick Fedde on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation on Thursday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
Rodriguez, 24, joins the Nationals for his fourth Major League stint of the season. He has appeared in three games (two starts), pitching to a 5.93 ERA (9 ER/13.2 IP) with 12 strikeouts. The Nationals have won each of his two starts.
Fedde, 25, is 1-3 with a 5.79 ERA (18 ER/28.0 IP) in six starts for Washington this season. He earned his first career win on June 29 at Philadelphia.
