Nats rally in seventh to take lead, Nava homer ties game again (Nats lose 8-7)

The Nationals parlayed three singles, a pair of walks and a sacrifice fly to score three runs in the seventh inning and take a 7-6 lead over the Red Sox. Mark DeRosa led off the seventh with an infield single off Justin Thomas and was replaced by pinch runner Adrian Sanchez, who advanced to second on Xavier Nady's single to right. Wilson Ramos then drove in his fourth run of the afternoon on a single to left. Thomas was replaced by Michael Bowden after Roger Bernadina's sacrifice moved the runners up a base for the inning's first out. Bowden walked Ian Desmond on four pitches, loading the bases, before Danny Espinosa fought out of a 1-2 hole to draw another walk, which forced in a run and tied the game at 6-6. Steve Lombardozzi lofted a fly ball deep enough down the left field line to score Ramos for a 7-6 Nationals lead. Chad Tracy grounded out for the inning's final out. Ryan Mattheus is on to pitch the eighth in relief of Craig Stammen. Well, that lead didn't last long. Just as I was about to send, Daniel Nava homered off Mattheus to center field for a 7-7 tie. Update: The Red Sox scored a run off reliever Henry Rodriguez in the ninth for an 8-7 victory. Rodriguez had gone 11 scoreless innings this spring until allowing a tiebreaking RBI double to Jason Repko with one out. Repko threw out Desmond from center field to end the game.
