Postgame reactions after Nats' 6-3 loss

ATLANTA - The Nationals dropped another one to the Braves tonight, a 6-3 defeat, marking the fourth loss in five tries against Atlanta for Matt Williams' club this season. Here are some postgame reactions from the clubhouse on the defeat, the Nats going 1-for-16 with runners in scoring position, Ryan Zimmerman's injury and the string of loses to the Braves: Anthony Rendon On Ryan Zimmerman's injury: "Terrible. I know how he feels. Luckily it wasn't 4-6 months. I've been through that. But he's a good guy. He'll recover from it. He'll be back." On the number of injuries the Nats have had to deal with: "Yeah, it's pretty bad, bad luck on our part, but it's part of the game. Got to pull together as a team. We're going to pull through it." On the Nats' ineffectiveness with runners in scoring position tonight: "Of course. To get runners on, it's our job, to put 'em on and put 'em in. Obviously we're not doing that right now. Just got to go back to the book, see what we're doing wrong." On taking the positive that at least they got lots of runners on: "Yeah definitely, you've got to be optimistic about everything in this game. We're getting a lot of runners on, we're getting a lot of hits, we're putting some runs on the board. That's good, too. If we're getting shut out or scoring one run or something, that'd be a little more of a problem. But getting runners on base, making things happen, that's not a problem." Jayson Werth On his groin injury: "I ran around during BP and shagged. I was fine. I think it was just more precautionary than anything else. It's early in the season, and you don't want to do anything stupid. I should be good." On him dealing with this issue in the past: "Yeah. I remember doing something like this even as far back as high school. It's just one of those things I deal with. It's a daily thing. Usually I do pretty good with it, but sometimes it pops up. Usually I don't miss any time for it, but Matt wanted to be cautious today, and that's fine. But I was available." On the Braves having the upper hand on the Nats lately: "It's just one of those things right now. But sometimes those things are cyclical. We'll see. We've got a long way to go. Hopefully we can balance it out." Nate McLouth On all the injuries: "It's tough. Those kinds of things happened unfortunately and it's been a barrage here in the first two weeks of the season. You can't complain. I'm sure the Braves don't want to hear anybody complain of any injuries because they've had some, too. You have to overcome." On his dropped fly ball in right field: "That's probably happened to me five or six times in my career and I understand they changed the rule or the wording of a rule or something like that. Per the rule, the umpire enforced it correctly. He called it correctly. It's like a common sense: you catch the ball, you got to transfer it, you drop it, you still caught it. Per the rule, it was enforced correctly. It was unfortunate but it didn't cost us a run luckily." On the missed opportunities tonight: "We had their starter on the ropes a couple times early and we ran his pitch count up really high, but couldn't come through. We had the bases loaded a couple times but weren't able to come through."
