Relive "National Classics": Wild endings leading into spring training games

The full Nationals squad has reported to The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches and full workouts are underway. All is right in Natstown.

Before you know it, we'll have real, live-action baseball games for you fans. To be specific, that comes to you next Tuesday, Feb. 28, when MASN will broadcast the first of seven Nats spring training games this season as the tennants of the new training facility in West Palm Beach go head-to-head.

That also means this is the last full week of "Nationals Classics" before live games start again. So here's the schedule of classic Nats moments to re-air on MASN leading you up to next week's spring training games:

Monday, Feb. 20, 11:30 p.m. - The Nationals held a 2-0 lead from the fifth inning to the ninth in an April 12, 2012 game against Cincinnati. But Dusty Baker's Reds scored two runs in last frame to tie the game and send it to extras. But Mr. Walk-off came to the rescue in the 10th, albeit in an unconventional way. Ryan Zimmerman was able to walk it off by scoring from third base on a wild pitch.

Wednesday, Feb. 22, 7 p.m. - Jordan Zimmermann is no longer with the Nationals, but he left an important mark on the team's history when he was in D.C. On Sept. 28, 2014, Zimermann threw the first no-hitter in Nationals history in the last game of the regular season against the Marlins, which was capped off by a sensational catch by left fielder Steven Souza Jr for a 1-0 victory.

Thursday, Feb. 23, 9 a.m. - Bryce Harper, on the other hand, has already left his mark on Nationals history and is still on the team with time to add more moments. One of his first clutch moments with the Nats came on June 5, 2012 against the Mets, when the young slugger (and then future National League Rookie of the Year) recorded his first career walk-off hit. Harper's single in the 12th gave the Nats a 7-6 win over their division rivals.

Sunday, Feb. 26, 2 p.m. - Harper can flash the leather, too. In a May 2, 2012 game against the Diamondbacks, the young outfielder made an impressive one-handed catch, and then Ian Desmond's clutch two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth gave the Nationals a 5-4 walk-off win at Nats Park.
